It’s been a busy month for us so far. On 6th July, we played as an 8 piece band at the Kings School Summer Ball in Gloucester. We had lots of fun and so did the guests, despite the torrential rain all night! On the following night, we once again headlined at the NATO Summer Festival in Innsworth. We headlined at their 2011 Summer Festival and this year was just as much fun! We love playing at military gigs and enjoyed watching the other bands that played earlier during the day and evening. We had a lovely thank you e-mail from Dan Peake, who booked us, saying that he’d like us to play at their future functions. Again, lots of rain so we played indoors on a great stage and those soldiers just kept on drinking and dancing! On 14th July, we played at a lovely wedding at Longlevens RFC, where we performed The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face for their first dance. On 21st July, we played at a very special wedding in Cheltenham. Heidi and John, bride and groom, with the help of their fabulous friend Michelle Stark, set up a lovely marquee in the middle of a field and had a festival-type of wedding! There were lots of dogs and children running around, enjoying a really relaxed and fun wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! On Sunday 22nd July, our sister band, The Lady Sings Jazz (featuring Firefly’s lead singer, Suzy Jacoby) played at the opening of the newly refurbished Hare and Hounds in Churchdown, Cheltenham.
