We had a ball this weekend! On Friday night, we played at a private outdoors festival for the 2nd year running. It’s a top secret event and it was every bit as fabulous as last year! Then on Saturday, we performed at a Gloucestershire Charity Gala Ball, in aid of LINC. The Ball was hosted at Stanway Tithe Barn, organised by Stanmore Cricket Club. The Ball was held in memory of one of the club’s star players, who tragically died of Leukaemia 3 years ago. The Ball held a raffle and incredibly raised a total of £6,000 in aid of LINC! In one night!! How amazing is that?!
Firefly loves playing at Charity Balls and has played at countless Gloucestershire Charity Balls, South West Charity Balls and Midlands Charity Balls as well as in lots of other places in the UK. This Ball had a ton of party animals in it, who danced all night and wouldn’t let us go in the end without several encores, which we were only too pleased about to play! Sweet Caroline was the Star Player’s favourite song so we played this song twice, at the request of his beautiful wife.
Firefly was joined by multi-award winning saxophonist Dom Franks, who has played with Firefly since our very beginning at a ton of events including Charity Balls. We played at acoustic duo earlier on – in the rain! To welcome guests who had that great British spirit and didn’t seem to notice the rain!
