We loved playing at Paul’s 50th birthday party at the Coventry & North Warwickshire Sports Club in Coventry on Saturday 31st August 2019. We were joined by the famous Muddy Manninen on guitar, formally of Wishbone Ash fame and superfluous Jerry Price on saxophone.
Paul threw a fabulous bash for his 50th birthday party, which his beautiful wife helped to organise. The band learned some songs especially for Paul, which we dedicated to him. The songs were Dream a Little Dream and The Importance of Being Idle, by Oasis, Paul’s favourite band.
The 7-piece band consisted of Suzy J on lead vocals, Wendy Abrahams on lead and backing vocals, Paul Hardy on keyboards, Superman Dave on bass (named Superman because he can fix anything!), Stephen Barton on drums, Jerry Price on saxophone and the wonderful Muddy Manninen on guitar, who wowed the guests with his electrying guitar solos which he was famous for in hit prog rock band, Wishbone Ash, whom he played for for 13 years.
Firefly entertained guests for hours with 2 x 1 hour live sets and a disco, to a packed dance floor. We love playing at 50th birthday parties, many of which we’ve played at over the years in Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, London etc.
