A record 7 gigs in September!

We loved all the gigs we played at in September! The busy month kicked off with a wedding gig on Saturday 4th September in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, where we played at Emily’s wedding. Wow, these guests could party! They partied all night and then into the early hours to fantastic DJ, Peter Atkinson’s set! We played as a 7-piece band including with Dom Franks on saxophone. We received such a nice thank you email from the bride and groom.

On 11th September, we played at Katherine and Nathan’s wedding in Sudgrove in Miserden (near Stroud in Gloucestershire). The wedding was in a marquee and it was in such a stunning venue with breathtaking country views! We were joined by fantastic guest keyboard player and well known pilot, Dave Lewins. We received such a lovely thank you email from the couple.

On 17th September, we played at yet another military ball, thanks to our wonderful agent, Jon. Jon and his gorgeous wife came to the ball and partied the night away to our set! We entertained RAF Officers at the RAF Headquarters in High Wycombe, for their Summer Ball. The setting was opulent and entertainment included stunning dancers, circus performers, fire dancers, magicians, lookalikes inc Winston Churchill, and lots of other entertainment inc fairground rides!

On Sunday 19th September, we played at a surprise 40th wedding anniversary party at Mercure Bowden Hall Gloucester! The party had been organised by the couple’s lovely children, and they did an amazing job, inc for keeping it a secret for so long! The couple love Motown and Soul so we played lots of songs by artists including Diana Ross, Candi Staton, The Supremes etc, helped by our fabulous saxophonist, Dom Franks.

On 25th September, we returned to play at private members’ club, Haydon Wick Club, in Swindon. Such a great night!

On 29th September, we played at a corporate function in Evesham, for County Medics. These amazing medics have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic for the NHS, bravely putting themselves at risk, so we treated them to lots of songs! Other entertainment included a bouncy castle etc! We were joined by guest bass player, Chris Cobbson. Chris plays in the very famous saxophonist, Courtney Pines’ band, so we were very fortunate to snare him for the night!

On Thursday 30th September, we returned to play at another military gig, thanks again to our wonderful agent, Jon. This time, we entertained sergeants at Ministry of Defence Lyneham. They were wild and partied hard, as you can imagine! We were joined by famous guest guitarist, Muddy Manninen, for the night. Muddy played for famous band, Wishbone Ash, for many years. He is an incredible guitarist!
