We’ve loved playing at all of our summer gigs!
On Friday 27th May 2022, we returned to HMS Collingwood in Fareham to entertain Navy Officers at their Christmas Ball. We were welcomed back with such warmth, and we loved entertaining all the Navy Officers.
On Saturday 28th May, we returned again to entertain sixth formers at their Leavers’ Ball, at Millfield School. We love playing at Millfield School. The sixth formers were treated to a fairground, delicious food and non-stop dancing to Firefly! The staff are also incredibly nice and always make us feel part of the Millfield Family!
On Saturday 4th June, we entertained adults and children at Waterside Holiday Park in Dorset. The dancefloor was packed all night and it was such a great night!
On Saturday 11th June, we were honoured to be asked to play at the beautiful Amy Allen’s Celebration of Life party. Amy was a nurse and tragically died of cancer in her 30’s. We played at Amy’s retirement party from the NHS in 2017 and it was both tragic and an honour to play for her husband and family and friends at the YMCA in Tewkesbury, which is where we played at her 2017 party.
On Saturday 18th June, we played at Anna’s wedding at Conygree Farm near Cheltenham. Despite the torrential rain, the marquee was stunning, and it was a magical and brilliant night.
On Friday 1st July, we returned again to play at a Charity Ball at Stanway Barn in Cheltenham, where we were joined by one of the major stars from Les Misérables. What a treat!
On Saturday 2nd July, on the Queen’s Jubilee weekend, we travelled to South Wales to entertain families at Trecco Bay Holiday Park. The show had sold out and it was an exciting night!
On Saturday 8th July, we played at Laura & Lawrence’s wedding at Over Farm, Gloucester, where the Groom’s father surprised everyone by spontaneously treating the bride and groom to a fly over in a light airplane. What an epic moment!
On Saturday 9th July, we played at the Bird in Hand festival in Saltford, Bristol. Despite the scorching heat, hundreds came to the festival, and it was a fabulous day!
On Saturday 16th July, we played at Lesley & Joe’s wedding in Malborough in Wiltshire, joined by Dom Franks on saxophone. It was a great wedding!
On Saturday 23rd July, we played at a 40th wedding anniversary celebration party for Gary and his gorgeous wife. Gary even serenaded her with a few songs. He has a great voice! The marquee was surrounded by stunning countryside, along with some very cute animals!
On Friday 29th July, we played at another military gig – this time for a Sergeant’s Mess in Keogh Barracks in Ash Vale. We absolutely love playing at military events and this one was really lovely, with an outdoor barbecue, a very acoustic singer / guitarist, Daniel Butterworth, who joined us for our main set, and Firefly entertaining all the Navy Officers at the end of the night.
On Saturday 30th July, we played at Liz & Mike’s wedding at Glenfall House in Cheltenham. It was an intimate, love-filled wedding and our lead singer, Suze, was moved to tears during the speeches, which were incredibly moving and beautiful. We absolutely love playing at weddings and this one was particularly special! Even Milo, the rbide & groom’s Labrador dog came and was dressed in a cute tuxedo!
This was a triple-gig weekend, and we loved it! On Friday 5th August, we played at Brinsop Court in Hereford for Alex’s wedding. We were joined by our brilliant brass players: Dom Franks on saxophone and Sam Red on trumpet.
On Saturday 6th August, we played at Sarah’s 50th birthday party in Painswick, Glos. We played outdoors and entertained adults and children and it was a fabulous day and evening!
On Sunday 7th August, we played at a 50th wedding anniversary for Jon & Liz at Toddington Village Hall, Glos. We loved it! The happy couple were ravers! They asked for jazz and swing and also lots of rock and electronic dance music! We played everything from Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, to Abba, Frank Sinatra, Sia and Calvin Harris!
On Friday 12th August, we played at a Harley Davidson rally for Harley Owners at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. It was such a brilliant gig and outdoors! The bikers rocked and danced all night and were incredibly lovely!
On Saturday 20th August, we played at Anna’s wedding at the famous Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe. We played outdoors, in a marquee, and it was a perfect day. We played jazz and swing to begin with and then burst into pop, rock, indie, soul, Motown and electronic dance music.
On Saturday 27th August, we played at Paige’s wedding at Hanham Community Centre in Bristol. This was a very memorable wedding, including because the fun bride got all the women to wear pyjamas, including our lead singer, Suze – and on stage as well!
On Monday 29th August, we returned again to entertain families at the Bishops Cleeve Fun Day which is a festival in Cheltenham. It was such a great day!
On Saturday 2nd September, we played at Sophie and Rob’s wedding at The Swan in Bibury. See the lovely thank you email we received from Sophie. The Swan is a beautiful Cotswolds hotel in stunning surroundings. The staff are so warm and friendly. We highly recommend it as a wedding venue!
