December kicked off with a fantastic military gig for MoD Bulford Barracks on 5th December 2025. It was a Sergeants’ Christmas Ball for the 3rd (UK) Div and Sig Regt, thanks to our agent, Jon, from Station Entertainments. Despite the torrential rain outside, the venue was beautifully decorated with a huge Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations and gorgeous lighting. The air was filled with scented candles. Christmas Dinner was laid out for all of the guests and they treated us with it, too! We had a lovely thank you email from the client the following day:
“Hey,
I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for the incredible performance you delivered last night. Your talent and energy truly brought the event to life, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
From the first note to the final song, you engaged the crowd and set a perfect tone for the evening. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into your performance.
Thank you once again for making our event special.
Tara”
We love playing at military functions and we can now add MoD Bulford Barracks to our very long list of military function gigs in South West England, the Midlands, Somerset and Gloucestershire.
The following night, on 6th December 2025, we played at a very prestigious military gig, for an elite military base. We’re not allowed to mention who it was! But it was a wild night and everyone had a fantastic time!
On Wednesday 10th December 2025, we played at an intimate military gig, for The Desert Rats at HQ 7th Light Mechanised Brigade (Kendrew Barracks). An Army Officers’ Christmas Ball with a select number of Officers, all in uniform, the venue was decorated with floor to ceiling Christmas attire, along with a huge Christmas tree and an ice sculpture in the shape of a rat! Check out the lovely thank you email we received from the client (in the photo).
On Friday 12th December 2025, we played at another elite military base, this time in London. We’re not allowed to mention who for! But it was for an International Officers’ Christmas Ball with 500 officers from all over the world in attendance. It was opulent, fabulous and very festive. There were dancers, fire and circus performers and other entertainment. We were re-booked for December 2026 as soon as we finished our last encore and we’re so delighted as we can’t wait to return! Huge thanks to our military agent, Jon, from Station Entertainments.
Saturday 13th December 2025 marked our 5th and final military gig of the month. We returned once again to play at MoD Corsham, for their Officers’ Christmas Ball. Again, the venue was decorated beautifully and other entertainment included stilt walkers, magician etc. The weather was icy cold outside, but inside, the warmth radiated and Christmas songs blared out by ours truly and also the disco, which we provided. The Ministry of Defence Corsham Officers partied hard through the night long after we’d left at 1am! A truly memorable and fantastic night!
Saturday 19th December 2025 marked our first time playing at the Bishops Cleeve Bowling Club in Cheltenham. We played at Christina’s 70th birthday party. Christina has the nicest family and friends who danced all night! We played all of Christina’s favourite songs and any song we didn’t know was played as part of the disco, which we provided.
Military Balls are such fabulous events to play. Contact us to find out more about booking Firefly band to perform at your event or Military function.
